I think it would be marvelous to have a choice of screens and music in Guild Wars 2. I don't know if it's possible, or if it's being considered, but you can be sure the idea's been passed along.

Seconded. I would love this idea. Not a game breaker, obviously, but one of those nice little details you enjoy putting into a project as a designer to add that extra bit of polish. I very much miss the original login screen, but would have my momentary desires too to put one of the newer ones in action.

For GW2, sure. The ability to customize music options and place the theme for the login screen as new ones become available, as new editions, chapters, etc came out would be great.

I miss the humbleness GW displayed when it was first released in beta. The homemade oldy RP interface was fun as well. It really did feel like Diablo III for a while.

Gaile be sure to implement the "old" GW music as optional in GW2. I don't care if the GW2 music will kick ass, I'd still like the choice.

It would be nice to be ble to use the old GW1 music along the probable new music for GW2.
There could be even more than one soundtrack in DirectSong, so people could choose between 'classical', 'electronic' and other styles.

Would be nice to see this option added sometime, I really miss the old Prophecies music. Not so much its background, but man did I love the music... or well, Factions' music too.

It was. In beta (pre GW launch) when you logged in zoom to the hill where your characters were at. It was Post Searing Ascalon.

Also in early beta, you had to "fight" your way to ascalon as a crash tutorial that was before you get to the city that was removed when the game launched.

My favorite to be honest is the ocean one right after the camp fire.

oh i forgot how many times i though about this i loved the epic style of the old campfire, but what i miss the most is the original guild wars theme that none of the new ones is good, id like to have the old theme song back, the login screen should be exchangeable if you own the campaigns, or campagin related would be nice

the first game had all our characters on the screen at once though. This would cause so many problems with the people with a bazzilion gajjillion character slots. It would be cool if they implimented it somehow to show all our characters. Might get overcrowded though.

Ive always wanted a HOM statue of my characters or atleast 3 or 4 of them. I would love a log in screen of our characters standing in the hall, maybe a possible idea for when gw2 is released

Great idea, I did get attached to the Nightfall login screen n' opening music.

I really dont give a bleep about gw2---thats a loooong ways away. I want it for gw1.....and as I stated there hasnt been MUCH changed since factions so I dont quite understand why we cant have the choice of factions, nightfall or eye at least for the login (and the 'store' can just be added to the top, geesh--not to mention it WAS there on the nightfall screen!!!). I do understand the campfire not being available---that I will give up, but the others, no reasons...just people not wanting to work on an old game-------

I am enjoying the discussion, even if the thread is... err... older. So no need to regret its resurrection.

But I have to say that the "card" image did tickle a funny bone or two and I'll be thinking of that with threads I wish were not brought back.
